Loud noise or clack

My Royal coffee bar started to make a loud noise one half second before the water begins in the brewing process just as the brew group is fully compressed. The noise is very similar to the double solenoid operation of the Doser, but only one loud snap or crack. Other than the noise, the machine is brewing wonderfully.

I've tried lubricating which helps slightly but the intensity of the noise does vary between each brewing cycle. Any ideas of what it could be?

maybe gear of brewing-unit motor or brewing unit itself.

I hope others can give better support and will do so.

I suspect the gear in the transmission.
Test another brewing unit, if you have.
