Questions about my "New" Xelsis SUP038 project machine

Happy New Year folks!
I'm back with another project
Just got 2010 Xelsis and it wasn't treated that great, first questions before complete cleaning.
1 Chipped plastic on the inner door protective plastic cover. Problem or just not pretty?
2 The stainless steel finish is worn, is this possible to buff it out? Looks like there is some kind of coating on it?

Yes, the typical drawer sensor is there, completely black and sticky
Is the circuit board cleanable or is the sensor generally damaged?
I did soak it in rubbing alcohol and cleaned it up.
Didn't power it on yet.

Getting this annoying message on and off
“empty grounds drawer” “empty drip tray”
Is it possible caused by the drip tray sensor in the door?
Is there way to bypass the sensor before I get replacement?
