Yes, it's very unlikely that this kind of behaviour is caused by a firmware issue. Keep in mind that on the control pcb the chip with the firmware is 'read only'. No values are written to it! (in contrast to the chip on the power pcb).
Still, it would be nice if you could post the firmware of this 5513227451 control pcb (and the contents of the EEPROM chip that's also located on the pcb).
